By using transparent aligner trays that are customised to your teeth for a more comfortable and precise fit, Invisalign is the premium choice for straightening your smile, no matter what your age.
With a choice of composite veneers or porcelain veneers, you are totally in control of just how dramatic your results will be. 1. What is cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry is a set of different procedures and treatments that will help you achieve a whiter, brighter smile while making you feel more confident about your pearly whites.
Your dentist can so anything from making subtle changes to major procedures to ensure you look and feel good. Some of these procedures are not only done for cosmetic purposes, but also can be used to improve oral problems, such as treating an overbite, underbite and misalignment.
2. What is the different types of cosmetic dentistry?
While cosmetic dentistry is concerned mainly with how your teeth looks, we also take into consideration your mouth’s overall healthcare before the procedure are performed. Depending on your specific needs, there are many different treatments under cosmetic dentistry, some of them include:
- Close gaps between the teeth which can make use of treatments such as veneers, bonding or a form of braces.
- Reshaping your teeth, also known as recontouring. This procedure can be done to change the shape of your teeth if you feel they are too long or too short.
- Teeth whitening: Whitening is the easiest way of achieving fast and visible results in a relatively short space of time.
- Dental crowns can be used to avoid extractions of a damaged tooth or to cover a severely discoloured tooth.
3. How long does cosmetic dentistry last?
This is difficult to tell as each procedure has its own timeframe. Some treatment options, like veneers, can last as long as eight years while treatments like whitening may fade off if it is not maintained.
Dental Bonding can last between 3 to 5 years and having porcelain veneers put in can last from 10 to 20 years.
