A woman received a rude surprise when her chips had a bit more bite…
A woman in New Zealand was snacking on chips at her parents’ house when she found a crunchy little extra at the bottom of the bag. After munching her way through the crumbs at the bottom of a packed of spring onion-flavoured potato chips, she bit down on something hard.
Thinking it was a tasty, crispy little bit of a chip she bit down harder and could not crunch the tasty morsel.
Feeling alarmed she spit the hard titbit out, and discovered that it was a tooth! After a close inspection of her oral area she found that the tooth was not her own, and felt queasy at the thought of munching on someone else’s tooth! Needless to say, the experience has put her off her favourite salty snack for a while…
If you have experienced tooth loss, at Hyde Park Dental Care we have a range of restorative dental treatments to repair your broken smile.
Dental implants are the next best thing to a natural tooth, and are a great way to restore the form, function, health and appearance of a smile that has suffered tooth loss. Dental implants are essentially ‘screws’ that are placed into the jawbone and are a substitute for a missing tooth root. These devices are highly compatible with your jaw bone and fully integrate into your jaw over a period of months. This creates a permanent foundation for prosthetic teeth replacements such as crowns, bridges or dentures. At Hyde Park Dental Care in Sydney, we only offer the best treatment to allow you to have the best result.
The advantages of dental implants include:
- Identical to natural teeth in appearance, feel and function.
- Prevent remaining teeth on either side of the void from migrating.
- Decreases stress exerted on the surrounding teeth.
- Helps retain bone structure.
- Decreased chance of gum tissue shrinkage.
