We are up and running! The team at Hyde Park Dental Care are very pleased with the progress made in flattening the curve and suppressing the Coronavirus, hopefully for the long term.As a result of this the Australian Dental Association has relaxed the restrictions on dental treatment, as detailed below (from level 3 to level 2) taking effect on Monday 27 April 2020. We are now able to perform: General examinations Simple, non-invasive, fillings without the use of high speed handpieces Restorative procedures using high speed handpieces (with rubber dam) Simple extractions Hand scaling Medical management of soft tissue presentations (eg ulcers) Denture procedures Fluoride treatment Orthodontic treatment All treatment that generates aerosol spray without the use of rubber dam such as ultrasonic scalers (cleanings), are to be deferred until level 1 is reached. The safety of our patients and staff and the prevention of the spread of the Coronavirus, as always, is our priority. We have implemented the following protocols in this regard:1. Patients If you have a sore throat, cough, high temperature, shortness of breath or loss of taste, please do not book in. Only 1 patient at a time in the reception area (unless from the same household) Mandatory washing of hands before and after your appointment. 2. Clinical staff Additional PPE (personal protective equipment) including N95 masks, disposable gowns and face shields Should you have any concerns or questions regarding your treatment, please contact us via telephone or email.Best RegardsDr Brian Joffe and the team at Hyde Park Dental Care Don’t forget to share this via Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
